Naples, 23 March 2023 – To support women’s empowerment, Women in Export: Objective South, a driver for affirming inclusive business models and promoting sustainable development in the company’ was launched. This is a training course, attended by Giuseppina Esposito and Paola Monticoli of Raffaele Inizio Autotrasporti, designed with the aim of enhancing the female intellectual capital of southern companies by strengthening their technical-managerial skills.
Women in Export: Objective South is a pilot project, promoted by SACE, the Italian insurance-finance group controlled by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, in partnership with the University of Naples Federico II.
Diversity and social inclusion have always been core values guiding SACE’s work. Compared to the rest of the country, the Mezzogiorno shows the most difficult employment conditions, as well as a gender gap in the productive and entrepreneurial fabric, which require urgent and timely interventions. With this initiative, in which eighty women entrepreneurs from all the southern regions participated, the aim is to contribute to developing an industrial policy for southern Italy based on innovation and sustainability, aiming to strengthen and promote employment and gender equality. The future of every business is closely linked to changes arising from the outside world, an entrepreneur must be able to accompany his or her business in the double green and digital transition, sharing a vision and values on which to focus. In Italy, female businesses account for only 22% of the total, a figure lower than in other European countries, and only 3 out of 10 women hold leadership positions in the world of work. It is precisely from these premises that Women in Export Obiettivo Sud was born, with the aim of developing an industrial policy for the growth of the South as well, strengthening the enormous intellectual capital of women that characterises them.
